Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge  Take I 95 to Hwy. 406E at exit 80.  Then, Hwy. 406 to Hwy. 402.  The Visitor Information Center is located on Hwy. 402.

From the Visitor Information Center you are:
1.5 miles from the Hammock Walking Trails
3.5 miles from the Blackpoint Wildlife Drive
10.5 miles from the Manatee Observation Area

Manatee peak population occurs in the waters of the refuge in April.

Also try Promenade Park for Manatee, Turtle, and Bird watching.  It is located at the corner of U.S.1 and 192 in Melbourne.
