March 1st 2002

John Burnam (VDHA, President) visited Patrick AFB Military Working Dog Section and gave an educational speech to the base populous.  This meeting was thanks to the efforts of Sheri Wells.

March 7th 2002

www.scwda.org was established by Jason Campbell.

March 14th 2002

Sheri Wells and Rob Smith were added to the organization.

April 24th 2002

The SCWDA along with the members of the VDHA dedicated a wreath in memory of the War Dogs and their handlers to the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial at the Florida's Annual Vietnam Veterans Reunion. 

May 10th 2002

The SCWDA logo was designed and accepted.

July 13th 2002

The SCWDA was nominated to be a chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of Florida. 

August 2nd 2002

Coleen Taylor was added to the organization

December 2002

Operation "Santa Paws" was started as a way of supporting our deployed Handlers and Dogs with care packages for the holidays

January 2003

Our Operation changed names to "Sandy Paws" as a way to keep supporting our deployed friends after the Holiday season
