This collection of photographs was graciously donated to the SCWDA by Joe Ertel.  Joe was a Scout Dog Handler in Vietnam in 1970-1971 and a member of the 34th IPSD.  His Dog's name was Casey, a beautiful German Shepherd who is in many of these images.  During his time in Vietnam, he carried his Petri 35mm camera with him on every mission.

Over 30 years later the SCWDA was fortunate enough to cross paths with Joe and that is when he mailed us all of his 35mm negatives so they could be scanned and organized for the creation of a picture CD.  None of this would have been possible without his generosity, so we thank you Joe, for letting us to educate a new generation with these images.  Thanks to you and all the other members of our Armed Forces for keeping America free.

Below is a small sampling of the kinds of pictures that can be found on this CD.  The SCWDA is selling this photographic collection containing approximately 550 high resolution photographs (800 x 600) taken by Joe during his time in Vietnam.  Most are color, with a few rolls of black and white.  There are many pictures from the jungle, the base where Joe was stationed, trips he took into the city, and many more.  The CD is set up like a web page, is very easy to navigate, and autoruns upon insertion into your PC's CD-ROM drive.  Just insert into your PC and start browsing!  It also contains many web links to relevant Military Working Dog sites and other Vietnam related sites.  Don't hesitate to email us with any questions wellssheri@bellsouth.net  All proceeds will go to the SCWDA for  the continuing public education on the role these brave animals have played in our conflicts and the eventual construction of a Military Working Dog memorial to immortalize their sacrifice to our country.  This CD can be yours for a donation of $10 plus $5 shipping and packaging costs.  To order this CD via PayPal, just click on "Add to Cart" at the bottom of this page.  If you are not a PayPal member but would like to join, click here and you can sign up for free.  Thanks for your support!
